Who We Are

I founded Ekstrom Talent Consulting to help companies reach their most valuable assets: The right people.

A lifetime of competitive swimming resulting in a rewarding collegiate career left me with the hard-earned gift of discipline. Working as a ski instructor in Vail, CO taught me how to use my strengths to guide others through daunting challenges, and maybe more importantly, how much I value connecting with people. Years spent competing in triathlons nurtured my grit and determination even further.

I approached my roles at Nike, Tesla, and On Running with the same discipline, grit, determination, and care for others. I was able to build extraordinarily talented teams for companies at the top of their industries. I’ve enjoyed a meaningful career by letting my values guide me and have witnessed first-hand the enormous impact innovative companies can make when they do the same. This is the heart of Ekstrom Talent Consulting.

I call Oregon home with my two sweet boys, my awesome husband who keeps it all afloat, and a husky/shepherd mix who is needier than all three combined. I’m passionate about pushing for positive change and am honored to work with companies who do the same.

My Values at Work

  • Creativity.

I cut my teeth in creative recruiting, learning how to find niche skills in the most unusual places. This served me later in my career as I specialized in securing nearly impossible to find talent for critical (often brand-new-to-the-world!) roles.

  • Organizational Stance.

While serving as a Senior Business Partner for an executive leadership team I managed org design and talent planning + development + management from startup to IPO. I approach recruiting from the same organizational stance, understanding that a perfect fit doesn’t just simply check all of the skills boxes. They also add value to their team, their department, and the larger business.

  • Global Perspective.

Working with companies to build out teams in Brazil, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK, and Vietnam has given me a deep knowledge of global recruiting, international relocation, and various visa processes. Leading direct reports across 7 countries and 3 continents showed me how wonderful a cross-cultural team can be (but that maybe working across 10 time zones is too many).

  • Data to Fuel Efficiency.

I believe using data to measure, diagnose and redirect around roadblocks is a critical starting point when improving hiring operations. My varied experience shapes my approach, but I never start our relationship assuming I already have the answers. I start with the data.

  • Up for a Challenge.

I’ve worked in companies at every size, I’ve hired just about every skill set you can think of. I’ve hired extremely high volume roles. I’ve hired executives. And, I’ve directly sourced 99% of the people I’ve hired. There is no recruiting or people challenge I haven’t faced - and I’m happy to be challenged on that statement as I help you through yours!
